(7/365)Film review - Dhurandhar
The film starts with a haunting sequence of then Indian airlines IC 814 hijack, showcasing the helplessness of Indian govt and its officials, merciless and heinous terrorists and the Indian passengers stuck in shock and fear. What follows is a memorable experience shown in chapters instead of the basic 3 act structure. The story shows an Indian spy sent to Pakistan to infiltrate the core gangs operating in lyari(beautiful set created in Thailand)kudos to the set designers and art directors. Brilliant performances by the entire cast, special mention of Akshaye Khanna who steals the show with his nuanced and menacing portrayal of Rehman baloch(Dakait). The music and background score will cheer and keep you hooked even after the movie ends. The writing and direction by Aditya Dhar is marvellous and courageous. The action sequences, dialogues are sure to remain with you. Some scenes are not for the faint hearted! Overall it’s a classic espionage thriller for the ages. Must watch!
